Our ProjectPro Program Management Solution (PPMS) allows you to manage and monitor hundreds of cross-project dependencies with Microsoft Project, which is hard to do with Microsoft Project by itself. PPMS will automatically create the cross-project dependencies and generate the integrated master schedule. You can then find the Critical Path and optimize it. Eventually, PPMS will automatically remove all cross-project dependencies again (the schedules do not change thanks to Start-No-Earlier-Than constraints where needed). You can then give the standalone subproject schedules back to the subproject managers for the next round of updating. PPMS is available for Microsoft Project 2007 and 2010.

You will benefit from our add-in for Microsoft Project 2010 if you need to create Earned Value charts from your MS Project schedules. The add-in can also create an s-curve for the effort (called 'Work' in MS Project) in your project and track your project on planned work versus actual work. Forecast Scheduling shows you how you can forecast your project with just the schedule – even without advanced techniques like Earned Value. It builds on the author’s principle of Dynamic Scheduling that demonstrates how to minimize the effort spent on a schedule. In this book, the author takes scheduling to the next level by showing you how to create a model of the project to forecast it dynamically.
