This 2-day course is for new users of Project 2007 who want to get started on planning their projects in Project 2007. Overall, the objective of the course is to make participants feel comfortable with using Project 2007.

ProjectPro offers the Fundamentals course to novice users of MS Project who want to get started on planning their projects in MS Project. There are no pre-requisites, and any team member, team leader or project manager can attend this course on Project 2007 even if you have never seen the MS Project application.
If you are choosing between attending the Fundamentals or Dynamic Scheduling course, it is important to realize that the Fundamentals course is for new users, whereas, Dynamic Scheduling is designed for people who are already using MS Project regularly for planning and managing their projects.
You will learn how to:
- Navigate the Project 2007 interface
- Set up a new project in Project 2007
- Enter and modify deliverables and tasks
- Enter duration or work estimates
- Enter dependencies between tasks
- Enter deadlines and constraints
- Define and assign resources
- Optimize the schedule
- Modify views and reports
- Enter and track progress
- A laptop with a processor of 233 MHz or higher and a minimum of 128MB RAM
- The laptop should be loaded with Windows 2000 or later and a full setup of Project 2007 Standard or Professional edition. If you are set up with Project 2000 or 2002, you can still participate since these releases are about 90% the same for this course. The instructor will demonstrate from Project 2007 but can point out the differences with your version. The differences between 2007 and previous releases will be clearly indicated in the course book.

Define and assign resources
- Create a resource list of people, facilities, equipment and materials
- Modify resource calendars: working hours and non-working days
- Modify resource availability: maximum units
- Assign resources to tasks
- Add or remove resources
Optimize the Schedule
- Display the Critical Path
- Filter on critical tasks
- Shorten the project schedule
- Identify the slack on tasks

- Level the workloads of the resources
Modify Views and Reports
