Scheduling Approaches: It’s a Zoo out There, but Let’s Cage those Animals…

We have seen a flurry of articles on the shortcomings of the Critical Path method, the virtues of Critical Chain scheduling and the applications of Earned Value. These are the wild animals on the loose. There is no one, best way to schedule a project, which begs the question: what is the best approach for my project situation? This presentation will describe the spectrum of project situations by types of ideals and by type of constraints. This creates several combinations and for each combination, an approach is recommended. Executives and program managers who have to guide and lead project managers will benefit from this presentation.
